Are all Brandon Sanderson books in the same universe?

While his books share a universe, they don’t all take place on the same world. Sometimes characters cross over, though, in ways that are cool if you’ve read the other books they appear in.

Go for Mistborn first. That said, this is a case of ‘it doesn’t really matter, just read something’, but Mistborn is a good complete series. WoK has a lot of promise to be better in the end, but I think Mistborn is a neater entry point. I say start with Mistborn, way shorter and it’s done.

Can I read Stormlight archive without reading Mistborn?

So, yes, you can absolutely read and love “The Way of Kings” and “Words of Radiance” without more context. I did. But I would recommend reading Warbreaker, Elantris, and/or the Mistbo Absolutely.
