Does the Glowforge have a 3D printer?

How big can a Glowforge Pro cut?

With a powerful laser tube, the Glowforge Pro model is able to cut through 1/2 inch of hardwood. It has a build area of 11.5 x 20 inches, but the pass-through feature technically makes it possible to engrave materials of unlimited length.

How deep can a Glowforge cut?

The machine can hold material up to 2″ in thickness and can engrave on those pieces – about a 0.5″ deep. Don’t expect the Glowforge to cut through 2″ material. If you are using a Glowforge Pro machine, the maximum cutting size is 19.5″ and infinitely long through the passthrough slot.

How deep can Glowforge engrave?

It can accommodate material as thick as 1/2 in (1.2 cm), but may require multiple passes or flipping the material over. For engraving, you can remove the tray and insert objects as thick as 2 in (5 cm). It can then engrave the surface up to 0.5 in (1.2 cm), depending on the material.

What can you do with a Glowforge Basic?

The Glowforge Basic can etch and cut multiple materials easily, including acrylic, leather, paper, rubber, and wood. It can engrave all of these materials as well, along with anodized metal, ceramic, glass, and stone. Glowforge sells its own cutting materials, like acrylic and wood, under the name Proofgrade.
