Can you convert a Weber Genesis to natural gas?
Due to safety considerations, the complexity of the components involved, as well as the level of disassembly required, we don’t allow conversions or provide conversion kits. Converting a Weber grill will actually void the warranty on the unit and might create an unsafe situation.
Can you use lava rocks in a Weber gas grill?
Using lava rocks/ceramic briquettes in a Weber gas grill will void the warranty on the unit, and could present safety issues. Instead of lava rocks/ceramic briquettes, we came up with what we call Flavorizer Bars, shown below.
Why does my Weber gas grill flare up?

What do Flavour bars do?
Flavorizer Bars direct grease and drippings away from the burner tubes, as well as add flavor to your food. Drippings, marinades, and juices from the food being grilled will fall down onto the hot Flavorizer Bars.
